As a highly reputable and professional company we never cut corners.
However in this installation in a leafy corner of Hampshire and in the corner of the room we had no choice in the matter.
The client had an extremely inefficient open fire in the corner of their lounge that they required excavating to accommodate a more efficient wood burning stove, but they still wanted the finished look to be within keeping of the character of the property.
We removed all of the existing brickwork and built brick piers to either side of the opening to accommodate a concrete support lintel and a oak mantle piece.
We lined the internals of the opening with a heat resistant decorative board and fitted plasterboard above the opening to follow the angle of the mantle.
A grey sandstone hearth was laid to the size of the customer’s specification, whilst also complying with current building regulations.
One of the best stoves on the market was chosen to complete the traditional look.
The very popular, fantastically engineered and British made Woodwarm Fireview 5Kw Slender Profiled Flat Top was installed.
Having completed the installation in two days the client was extremely impressed and we have had further installations due to his recommendations.
The finished look once decorated, has transformed the once overpowering brickwork that once was.
